WORK is nearing completion on the upgrade of three tall, orange navigation marker poles on Newcastle Harbour.

Scaffolding and mesh have cloaked three of the poles near the Queens Wharf Brewery for several weeks to allow for repainting, general maintenance and minor structural repairs.

The poles are used as navigation aids.
